My medical practice has been closed for the last few years as I tended to family health concerns. The old clinic and salt spa location on Highland Place Way was sold in May of 2021.
I am resuming my practice (April 2024) in a new location, and will begin seeing patients on a part-time basis.
My practice will resume in much the same manner as it was in 2021. I never stop learning and strive to continuously improve my understanding and application of the modalities presented on my website. Check back in for changes and updates - I'm even considering starting a blog... Stay tuned! If you are interested in my offerings, activities, events, etc. please sign up for my newsletter and I’ll keep you posted.
Thank you for considering my approach for your healthcare needs,
Will Foster, D.O.M.., L. Ac.
What Is Cupping?
Cupping is commonly used therapy in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Specially designed glass or plastic cups are placed on the surface of the skin and then heat or suction is used to create a vacuum within the cup, drawing the skin up into the cup. This mobilizes blood and stimulates energy flow. From a TCM point of view, cupping helps to remove excess and accumulated Yang, heat, and toxins from the superficial layers of muscle and skin. This can help to relieve pain and inflammation. Cupping therapy is traditionally used to treat muscle pain by dispersing stagnant energy and is also used to stimulate the elimination of toxins from the body through lymphatic stimulation. Although the cupping therapy practiced at Traditional Health Clinic is rooted in TCM, cupping therapy has been used in cultures all over the world, past and present. Cupping was used in both Ancient Egypt and Greece for centuries, and is used today in some parts of Europe.
